Skypixel is usually associated with the annual aerial photo and video contest that it does in partnership with DJI, which is now in its seventh straight year.

But Skypixel also has a new contest that it ran with DJI for the first time in 2021, called the Creative Video Contest.

While the annual aerial photo and video contest features videos and stills shot on drones, the Creative Video Contest features work shot on DJI’s cameras.

Winners were announced for the new contest recently, and now we get to see the stunning results.

Here are the first place winners, organized by category.

Grand Prize

“Tuscany through Art” by SkyPixel contributor Sergio Mota.

TUSCANY through ART | Cinematic Travel Video 4K

This is one of the most unique and creative short films I’ve seen. I love the way the visual effects are incorporated in surprising ways and the film has a really cool aesthetic overall. This was a clear winner in my opinion.

Skypixel’s annual contest has become a mainstay of the drone industry.

Every year, the contest showcases some of the best aerial photography and videography from around the world (check out the winners from the 2021 contest), with winners getting lots of high quality drone gear from DJI, Skypixel’s partner in the contest.

And now the 2022 contest, which will be the 7th in a row, is open for submissions. If you’ve been itching to share your aerial art, this could be the venue for you.

The contest opened for submissions on December 21, of last year and will be open until February 21 of this year, so you still have time to enter your work.
