DJI Mavic 4 Pro’s 100MP, 6K Camera, and Infinity Gimbal Redefine Drone Filmmaking
BY Zacc Dukowitz
13 May 2025After months of anticipation, DJI has launched the Mavic 4 Pro.
The Mavic 4 Pro retains the triple-camera system introduced with the Mavic 3 Pro, coming with wide, medium telephoto, and long telephoto lenses that let you switch perspectives seamlessly in flight.
But it has some major upgrades.
One of the biggest changes is the 100MP Hasselblad main camera, which will allow creators to capture cinematic-quality stills and 6K video that rival larger, more expensive systems like the Inspire 3 or the RED Komodo paired with a gimbal drone setup.

The Mavic 4 Pro’s Infinity Gimbal
But the real game-changer is the Infinity Gimbal, which lets you get full 360° rotation and up to 70° upward tilt.
For filmmakers, this means the freedom to compose shots that were once reserved for complex crane rigs or handheld gimbals, all while maintaining the stability and precision DJI is known for.
But—You Can’t Buy It Right Now
We hate to be the ones to tell you this. But the Mavic 4 Pro isn’t officially for sale in the U.S. right now.
When you go to the devoted Mavic 4 Pro page on the DJI site, you get an error:

That’s because DJI excluded the U.S. from its global launch, citing ongoing tariff policies and import restrictions as the main reasons for its decision.
So How Can You Get It?
Right now, there is no announced timeline for when, or if, the Mavic 4 Pro might become available directly from DJI in the U.S.
But here’s what you can do if you’re eager to get your hands on one:
- Adorama was actively selling the Mavic 4 Pro as of writing this article
- B&H is offering the Mavic 4 Pro on pre-order
- You can also buy it from Canada and have it shipped here (but be warned that official DJI support, including DJI Care Refresh, may not be available for the Mavic 4 Pro in the U.S.)

What’s New with the Mavic 4 Pro
The Infinity Gimbal isn’t the only thing that’s new with the Mavic 4 Pro.
With this launch, DJI is rolling out a lot of new features, products, and functions—some of them are specific to the Mavic platform, but some will be useful for other drones the company makes as well.
Here’s a list of everything that’s new with the Mavic 4 Pro:
- DJI RC Pro 2 controller. Debuts a new 7″, high-brightness Mini-LED display that rotates for vertical shooting, with 4 hours of battery life and 128GB of built-in storage.
- Electronic ND filter system. This is the first Mavic with built-in electronic ND filters, allowing pilots to adjust exposure instantly during flight without swapping physical filters, letting you get optimal footage in changing light conditions.
- Advanced return-to-home without GPS. The Mavic 4 Pro can safely return even without satellites by mapping its outbound flight path in real time and using vision sensors to avoid obstacles. This allows reliable return-to-home from GPS-denied environments like under tree cover or indoors, enhancing flight safety and enabling new creative possibilities.
- Infinity Gimbal. The first DJI drone with a 360° rotating gimbal, enabling full roll rotation, true vertical shooting, and upward angles up to 70°, unlocking creative perspectives not possible on previous Mavic models.
