FPV Drone Video of the Final World RX Race of the Season
Red Bull has been releasing a lot of high octane FPV drone footage lately and this video is the latest installation. The footage was shot at the final World RX race of the season, which took place recently at the Circuit de Lohéac in Brittany. Stephen Colbert Kicks Off New Season with New Drone Fly-Through Intro
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has kicked off season 7 with a new intro that features drone footage shot in a cinewhoop style. Marking its return to filming live in the studio, the intro shows behind-the-scenes footage of the Ed Sullivan Theater, highlighting all the people and places that are involved in putting on the Late Show. Like some of the most famous cinewhoops, the video starts outside and then swoops through the theater doors, quickly taking us on a tour of the studio before joining Colbert as he walks out on stage.
DJI Releases the OM5, Possibly the Smartest Selfie Stick Yet
In typical DJI fashion, a big product launch event last week marked the release of the OM5, the latest edition in DJI’s Osmo line of iPhone gimbals. The oM5 is basically a glorified selfie stick—when folded up it’s the size of your palm, but it can be extended up to 8 and 1/2 inches using its built-in extension rod. The OM5 is $159 and comes with ActiveTrack 4.0 and DJI’s new ShotGuides, which is a library of creative tips for how to use the gimbal in various environments.

Women and Drones has partnered with CES for the announcement of the winners of its 5th annual Women to Watch in UAS Global Awards 2021. The winners will be announced at CES 2022, which will take place in Las Vegas in January of next year. Winners will be selected in four individual categories—Entrepreneurship, Public Safety/Service, Leadership, and Education—and two team categories—Innovation and Team Spotlight. The 2021 winners of the Women to Watch awards were originally going to be announced at InterDrone but that conference was canceled for this year, so Women and Drones has found a new venue for the announcements.
Aloft Releases New Notify & Fly Feature for the FAA’s B4UFLY App

Aloft (formerly Kittyhawk) recently launched a new feature for the FAA’s B4UFLY app called Notify & Fly that allows drone pilots to let others using the app know when they’re operating in a given area. The notification is anonymous, and can be used by both recreational flyers and commercial drone pilots alike. The goal of the feature is to help improve safety by providing extra information to pilots about ongoing drone operations in their area.
