Three Highlights

We’ve made so many additions to the list that it would take way too much space to cover them here, but we wanted to showcase three of the companies we added for 2018 to give you a sense for what’s new this year.

Here they are:

1. Drone Business Center

Category: Drone Industry News

The Drone Business Center, run by Christopher Korody, provides in-depth analyses of goings on in the drone industry, including close looks at regulatory developments. Dronin’ On is their weekly commentary and news summary, and one of the best news sources in the industry.

At UAV Coach we’ve found the Drone Business Center’s weekly newsletter to be one of the very best sources for in-depth, thoughtful writing on the drone industry at large, and we love their close looks at the ins and outs of drone-related policy making. We read it religiously—hat tip to Christopher Korody for providing such great writing week after week.

2. Airspace

Category: Hardware

Airspace is a drone security solution capable of identifying, tracking, and autonomously removing rogue drones from the sky. Their hardware and software was built specifically for this type of work and helps keep airspace safe.

One of the contributing factors in our decision to select Airspace as a company to watch in 2018 is that we hear they have some big news that will be made public some time in the next few months. As drones proliferate, we need technology to keep pace to help keep our skies safe, and Airspace is one of the companies leading the way in this effort.

3. EdVentures

Category: STEM & Education

PCS Edventures is working to instill a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in students all over the globe, using drones and other technology to support their efforts. Edventures creates materials that allow learners to develop the foundations of scientific inquiry, engineering design principles, and spatial mathematical awareness while also exercising problem-solving, communication, reflection and collaboration skills.

Last year we formed a partnership with PCS EdVentures to help promote the use of drones in STEM education. We believe strongly in the power of drones to help excite young people about STEM, and we’re thrilled to be a part of educational efforts across the country that help bring drones into the classroom.
