Leaks Show New DJI N3 Goggles & Motion Controller for the Neo
BY Zacc Dukowitz
22 October 2024The DJI Neo made a big splash recently as the first true selfie drone from the biggest drone company in the world.
A big selling point for the Neo is that it’s really cheap. At just $199, and with the ability to basically fly itself for simple selfie shots, the Neo makes it possible for almost anyone to get into drones.
But there is one drawback about the Neo, at least from a cost perspective.
Although the Neo is cheap, if you want to fly it FPV you still have to shell out about $500 for the DJI Goggles 3—the only FPV goggles with which the Neo is compatible. (The cheapest goggles DJI makes are the Integras, which sell for $349—but they’re not compatible with the Neo.)
If you’re only paying $200 for the drone, $500 is a lot for goggles. So much that most people aren’t going to start FPV flying with the Neo. (Though if you already fly FPV, you might get the Neo to play with.)
But a new leak reveals that DJI is aware of this problem—and is working on a solution.
The Leaked DJI Goggles N3
A recent leak from DJI insider @JasperEllens shows a picture of a new pair of DJI FPV goggles called the N3s.
Another exclusive leak – Say hello to my little friend the #DJIGOGGLESN3. The N3 is the cheap, chubby but light, single-screen, affordable O4 goggles DJI made for the #Neo.

From what we can tell, the N3 goggles are the answer to the problem we described above.
To make cheaper goggles, DJI has replaced the single-eye Micro-LEDs you get on the DJI Goggles 3 with a less expensive single screen. And, as Ellens notes in his post, these goggles are made expressly for the Neo, making it clear that DJI is trying to cater to Neo fans who want to fly FPV.
How Much Will the N3 Goggles Cost?
So how much less will the N3s sell for?
Given that the Integras are $349, we’d guess at the outset that the price will be less than that. And this post from Ellens seems to prove that theory right:
Another unique #leak: DJI is going to make FPV flight a lot cheaper. I just found the single screen #GogglesN3 priced at only €269. But then I also found these promotion images of the #NeoMotionCombo at only €529! Launch expected 1st week Nov. More soon. Please #share. Cheers! pic.twitter.com/yz0JBRTj07

According to Ellens, here are the prices for the N3 goggles and for the Neo Motion Combo that comes with the N3 goggles:
- N3 goggles only—$290 (269 Euros)
- Neo Motion Combo—$572 (529 Euros)
Hold On—Why Does the Combo Cost More than the Two Items Alone?
You may have noticed something strange in the pricing we just shared: the Neo combo is priced at more than the cost of buying a Neo ($199) and buying the N3 goggles ($290).
According to the leaked pricing, buying the two separately would cost just $490. So why is the combo priced at $572?
The reason is in the name of the combo.
According to the leaks, the Neo Motion Combo will not only come with the new N3 goggles—it will also have a motion controller, giving Neo pilots a way to have intuitive, gesture-based flight.

The RC Motion 2
Right now it’s unclear if DJI will be launching a new, less expensive motion controller with the Neo Motion Combo or offering one of its existing motion controllers.
Given that the RC Motion 3 sells for about $99, we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the one DJI will include in the new combo. (Unlike its goggles, DJI’s motion controllers are so highly priced that they would need a new, inexpensive version to go along with its more inexpensive drones.)
Either way, we won’t have to wait long to find out. According to Ellens, the Neo Motion Combo will launch in early November.
