Mavic 4 Pro Full Specs Revealed, Launch Still Delayed
BY Zacc Dukowitz
2 May 2025According to leaks, the Mavic 4 Pro was supposed to be launched on April 24.
Of course, that didn’t happen—we reported on the launch being delayed earlier this month.
But despite the launch getting pushed back, some stores still stocked it. And you guessed it—that means all of the Mavic 4 Pro’s specs have now been leaked.
Back to the lowly. Deliveries of the new drone to stores are in full swing. It’s a small thing, but it’s nice.#mavic4pro pic.twitter.com/v40KjkeHbH

The Mavic 4 Pro’s Full Specs Revealed
The predicted launch date for the Mavic 4 Pro of April 24 seems like it was spot on—and that’s because stocked units of the drone began appearing in warehouses and on retailer websites across China and Europe leading up to the 24th.
However, due to issues with the drone’s new ND filter system and its new fast-charging battery—we’ll get into that in the section below—DJI paused the launch.
But not before leakers got hold of information from those early listings—and the drone itself.

When Will the Mavic 4 Pro Actually Come Out?
May 13 is one of the new dates we’ve been hearing.
But given the delay, we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s even later—though it should definitely be out this year.
Why Did the Launch Get Pushed Back?
The delay seems to stem from two main issues:
- The electronic ND filter system
- A new fast-charging battery
The electronic ND filter, designed to let pilots adjust exposure on the fly without swapping physical filters, is a first for DJI’s consumer drones.
Early units reportedly showed inconsistent performance, with some users experiencing glitches when switching filter strengths mid-flight. DJI engineers are said to be refining the firmware to ensure smooth, reliable operation before the drone reaches customers.
Fast charging is another sticking point.
The Mavic 4 Pro’s new battery is supposed to come with a significant boost in recharge speed, but there have been reports of overheating and inconsistent charging times during retailer testing. DJI is likely holding back the launch to address these safety and reliability concerns.
There’s also a third potential reason for the delays: some sources point to regulatory approvals and customs clearance, particularly in European and North American markets.
Also, remember those tariffs on Chinese goods everyone’s been talking about lately? They might also be impacting DJI’s timing with the launch, though the company hasn’t officially acknowledged this.
