FPV Dive Down the Tallest Skyscraper in China

Over the last few years drone pilot Joshua Turner has been traveling the world, shooting impressive drone footage everywhere he goes. He shot this epic FPV dive on a recent trip to Shanghai, where he flew around the three tallest buildings in the city, including Shanghai Tower. At 2,073 feet high—or almost half a mile—Shanghai Tower is the tallest building in China, and the third tallest in the world after the Burj Khalifa and the Merdeka Tower. The FPV dive was shot on an Iflight Nazgul Evoque V2 with a GoPro11 Mini. Make sure to check out Turner’s YouTube channel for more incredible FPV footage like this.

Tour of Indonesia with the DJI Avata 2

This video featuring footage captured entirely on the Avata 2 was shot by YouTuber @fabreezy to showcase what DJI’s latest cinewhoop can do. To make sure he had a stunning backdrop, he traveled to Indonesia to make the video. And he didn’t phone in the subject matter for his footage. In addition to being shot and edited incredibly well, the video features a wide variety of locales and subjects, from dirt biking on the beach, to surfing, to smoldering volcanoes and sweeping shots of this beautiful country’s lush green landscape.

UVify Sets Guinness World Record for Most Drones Flown at Once

Drone swarm and light show company UVify recently flew 5,293 drones at the same time, earning it a Guinness World Record for the most drones airborne simultaneously. The drones used to get the record were the IFO, UVify’s flagship light show drone. The light show took place in Songdo, South Korea. Unlike some past Guinness World Record claims, the light show was observed in-person by an official Guinness adjudicator, which is a requirement for receiving an official record from the organization.

Amazon Shutting Down California Drone Delivery Program

Amazon is closing its drone delivery program in Lockeford, CA. For the moment, this leaves only one active drone delivery program for the company: its program in College Station, TX. Announced just about two years ago, the California site was the first one Amazon started after years of setbacks and delays. In the first month after launching both programs combined only delivered to 10 houses, and the numbers didn’t climb much from there. But don’t count Amazon out of the drone delivery race just yet. Despite closing the California site the company is opening a new one in Tolleson, AZ, and maintains that its goal is to be delivering 500 million packages per year by drone by 2030.

BRINC and Skyfire Partner to Support Public Safety Drone Ops

Right on the heels of launching its new DFR (Drone as First Responder) training facility, Skyfire just announced a new partnership with BRINC. Skyfire is a consulting company that focuses on supporting drones for public safety agencies and BRINC makes drones like the LEMUR II specifically for public safety work. Through the partnership, the two companies aim to establish best practices for public safety agencies who are starting DFR programs in the U.S. (A DFR program is the use of a drone to respond to an emergency call right when it comes in, providing immediate aerial intel on the situation where the call is happening.) But the partnership isn’t just limited to outlining best practices. The two companies will also be helping public safety agencies set up their own DFR programs, helping them get waivers, COAs, and training.
