What Will DJI Launch in 2025? Predictions & Rumors for the Year
BY Zacc Dukowitz
22 January 2025DJI started 2025 with a bang.
It’s only been three weeks, and the company has already released the Matrice 4 and the DJI Flip.

The DJI Flip
And those are just the drones it’s pushed out.
Since the start of the year, DJI has also launched Super Fast Chargers for the Power 1000 and the O4 Air Unit Pro, an FPV system that comes with a high-quality camera and a video transmitter.
So what else does DJI have in store for this year?
According to drone industry insider @OsitaLV there are at least five more products on deck, including three more drones:
- The Mavic 4 Pro
- The Mini 5 Pro
- The Matrice 400A
- The DJI Dock 3
- The Action 6
Keep reading to learn everything we know about each one, rumored released dates, and our rating for how likely the prediction is to come true.
The Mavic 4 Pro
Rating: Very likely
Rumored release date: April, 2025
Like most DJI drones approaching a launch date, we’ve seen a lot of leaks for the Mavic 4 Pro.
One of the most recent leaks was this one from industry insider @Jasper Ellens:

Here’s everything we know about the Mavic 4 Pro so far:
- Camera system. Triple-camera configuration with 24mm, 70mm (or 50mm), and 166mm equivalent focal lengths.
- Camera movement. Ability to look straight down and up for more creative shots.
- Flight time. 52 minutes.
- Weight. 2.3 pounds (1,045 grams).
- Transmission. OcuSync 4+ technology.
- Design. Redesigned, with a more substantial gimbal assembly, prominent heat sink at the rear for improved thermal management, more streamlined arms compared to the Mavic 3 Pro, two fish-eye obstacle avoidance sensors, and an LED beacon.
The Mini 5 Pro
Rating: Likely
Rumored release date: Summer, 2025

Here’s everything we know about the DJI Mini 5 Pro so far:
- Camera system. Larger 1″ sensor.
- Obstacle avoidance. Leaked images suggest the addition of LiDAR sensors for enhanced obstacle detection.
- Flight performance. Improved motors with better cooling, potentially allowing for more powerful flight characteristics.
- Weight. Sub-250g, allowing it to avoid FAA registration requirements (this is what the Minis are known for, after all)
- AI capabilities. Rumored to include enhanced AI tracking features.
- Connectivity. Speculation about potential 5G connectivity.
- Design. Leaked images show vented motors and additional sensors between traditional obstacle avoidance sensors.
The Matrice 400A
Rating: Likely
Rumored release date: None (though it has been registered with the FCC, indicating a possible imminent launch)
The truth is, we don’t know a lot about the Matrice 400A. But its FCC registration is pretty compelling, and makes it seem like this drone will probably be launched in 2025.

Here’s everything we know about the DJI Matrice 400A so far:
- Battery. Capacity: 20,254 mAh; Voltage: 48.23 V; Energy: 977 Wh (all taken from the FCC registration).
- Use case. Looks like it’s going to be a heavy-lift drone, potentially replacing or complementing the Matrice 600 Pro.
- Payload capacity. Speculated to be around 20 pounds (9 kg). The FlyCart 30 can carry up to 66 pounds—if the speculation about how much the M400A can carry is right, this would put it in a lighter-load category for heavy-lifts.
The Dock 3
Rating: Hard to say
Rumored release date: None
We haven’t found any leaks or rumors about the Dock 3, beyond @OsitaLV mentioning it in their list of products DJI will push out this year.
So far, the two docks DJI has released have accompanied smaller Matrice drones, with the two forming a single package. The Matrice 30 came out with the first DJI Dock and the Matrice 3D came out with the second DJI Dock, the Dock 2.
Following this trend, you’d think that the Matrice 4 would have come out with the Dock 3, if a Dock 3 was going to be released at all. But it could be that DJI rushed to launch the M4 so much that it had to delay the Dock 3 release.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
The Action 6
Rating: Very likely
Rumored release date: February, 2025
Good news Osmo Action 6✌️#dji #djiosmoaction6 pic.twitter.com/nrjrIrDG3e
— Igor Bogdanov (@Quadro_News) December 14, 2024
Here’s everything we know about the Action 6 so far:
- FCC filing. DJI has filed for FCC approval with model number AC 006, indicating the device is in its final stages before launch.
- Connectivity. Supports Bluetooth 5.1 and dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz).
- Battery options. Two capacities mentioned: 1,770 mAh and 1,950 mAh, suggesting possible standard and Pro variants.
- Potential features. Speculation about a 1″ sensor for improved low-light performance and overall image quality.
What Does the Future Hold?
Keep in mind, all of these launches and anticipated launches come at a time when DJI is facing incredible pressure in the U.S.

The Matrice 4
Some have speculated that DJI may be trying to flood the market with as many products as it can before it’s operations are halted or drastically changed here.
And this could have some truth to it.
But it’s also worth pointing out that DJI has always had an aggressive launch schedule, pushing out several new drones and other products every year, for years and years.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see—both on whether these 2025 predictions are right, and on what the future of DJI looks like in the U.S.
