GoPro to Start Selling Drones This Year
BY Alan Perlman5 January 2015
It’s 2015 folks.
Late last year, the Wall Street Journal reported that GoPro, niche action sports camera product company turned public market behemoth, would be developing its own line of multirotor helicopters with high-definition camera.
And that they were expecting to launch in the latter part of 2015.
GoPro is shooting for a price point between $500-$1000, putting them at the lower end of the premium UAV market. The DJI Phantom 2+ Quadcopter, one of the more popular UAV systems, goes for $1099.
At this point, GoPro is ten years old. Last June, they went public, and since then their stock has more than doubled. We’re excited to see what they’re working on.
