Currently available for pre-order at $1295 with an expected shipment date of February 2015, the AirDog is the world’s first “auto-follow” drone for GoPro. As you can see above, the camera quality is quite remarkable, with a built-in gyroscope-stabilized gimbal. The real kicker is in the software, which when coupled with AirDog’s waterproof AirLeash, can autonomously track your movement.
The AirDog absolutely crushed their Kickstarter campaign. With an original goal of $200,000, they’ve received more than $1,300,000 from 1,357 backers.
From their Kickstarter page:
Like its canine namesake, AirDog automatically follows you wherever you go, whatever you do. It’s not bothered by pelting rain, freezing temps, massive waves, or freaking insane places. AirDog doesn’t say “no.” It just follows, flying right along.
